I took this photo in San Felipe in northern Baja California (Mexico) overlooking the Sea of Cortez. Just loved the colours… and the theme. It took a few days to reach here from the USA-Mexico border and was the first that we stopped for a beer. Three actually!

It’s full of bars and restaurants catering to American holiday-makers, although the small boats lining the beach shows that fishing is still an important industry here.

The history of San Felipe began later with the expeditions of Francisco de Ulloa, one of Cortés’s captains who navigated the bay in September 1535. White Bird Canyon

I cycled on the road that leads down from White Bird Hill Summit on my last bike trip through the US. It lies off to the left of the road leading south from Grangeville in Idaho.

White Bird Canyon is the site of the first battle of the Nez Perce wars in 1877. The Nez Perce Indians defeated the US Army despite being outnumbered 2:1.

It’s about time to do something with all the photos I’ve taken so I’ll be adding a selection here over the coming months…
